*…thanks to TheKnot.com for more great wedding ideas! ~Dave~
You may not realize it, but buying your wedding gown involves a lot more than showing up at the salon, trying on a couple dresses and then taking home “the one.” Wedding dresses are custom made (fancy right?), so you won’t be taking it home the same day. The salon special orders every dress and once it arrives you’ll need to go back in for fittings to make sure your one-of-a-kind gown fits like a glove.
The process takes about 6 months in total. So if you don’t have time on your side, you’re going to need a plan B. But don’t worry — this doesn’t mean you have to kiss your dream dress goodbye. There are tons of gorgeous options you can buy off the rack or online. You’ll be able to pick out the perfect dress and still have enough time to have it tailored, if necessary, before your wedding.
