If you were to ask me which part of your wedding decor was the most important, I would EASILY say that your wedding chairs are in the Top 5. On some days I might even say they’re #1.
Why? Wedding chairs are, oddly, often the first thing guests see when they get to a venue. It’s easy to tell when they’re plain, when they’re decorated, when they’re over-decorated, and even when they were an after-thought. Wedding chairs tend to stand out like a sore thumb when they haven’t been paid attention to. And they somehow stand out even more when they’re surrounded by things that clearly have been thought about (and spent money on) such as wedding flowers.
I’m not saying you have to spend a lot of money on your wedding chairs to make them look good. In fact, it’s often the opposite. You can buy inexpensive rolls of tulle or ribbon and bouquets of baby’s breath and INSTANTLY transform any type of wedding chair you have.
Below are a few of my favorite ways to style wedding chairs. Whether they’re the inexpensive folding kind or the more expensive “ghost chair,” there are so many ways you can immediately elevate your wedding decor by giving your wedding chairs a little TLC.
Casually placing covers over chairs (like these canvas ones tied with a stripe ribbon, or these awesome lace table runners) adds instant romance.
Add several pops of color with DIY strips of ribbon. Or you can purchase garland for a similar effect.
